To improve neighbourhoods for all stakeholders through the delivery of an anti-social behaviour and environmental enforcement function of prevention, education and enforcement.
To issue fixed penalty notice for offences relating to Littering, Waste Management and breaches made under the City Wide Public Spaces Protection Orders and to assist in the preparation of legal proceeding cases as instructed.
To carry out a surveillance role by reporting incidents of criminal activity and anti-social behaviour to relevant council departments and external agencies, investigating incidents, providing statements and giving evidence as required, and where appropriate, taking enforcement action.
To provide information to the public that will enable them to get the most from the visit to Sunderland or their neighbourhood, and to repond to queries and requests made by members of the public.
To issue fixed penalty notices for offences including on any Public Space Protection Orders, littering, graffiti and fly posting.
Key Tasks
1. Negotiating and persuading skills to ensure customers, partners and service users and colleagues operate in a certain way.  2. Deal with sensitive matters or challenging or hostile behaviour from customers.  3. To ensure information is recorded via appropriate mechanisms, including using IT systems.  4.  To use and be responsible for the care and maintenance of any equipment allocated for the delivery of the service.  Ensure equipment is maintained.  5  You may be required to work on weekends and Bank/Public holidays, as well as between Christmas and New Year.
