We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual looking to make a positive impact to the Waste Services Department of a local authority client. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to their mission of promoting sustainable waste management and enhancing the quality of life for their residents. This role is a long term role, covering maternity until late 2025, working on a full time basis, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Waste Services Department, including data entry, filing, and document management.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, correspondence, and presentations as required.
- Respond to inquiries from residents and stakeholders regarding waste services, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of waste collection schedules, service requests, and incidents.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a public sector or environmental services setting.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with database management.
- A team player who is also able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of waste management practices and regulations is a plus but not essential.
