We are delighted to be working with a local authority client, recruiting on their behalf for the following role:

Support Worker

Full Time

£11.98 per hour

We seek to recruit Support Workers to join a busy team within Community Services. The positions are to support the current teams within Reablement at Home and Planned Care. 

Community Services follow a fixed rota pattern and support service users across Sunderland within their own home.

  • We currently have several 32 hour positions available.
  • Candidates must have an enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Candidates must have a full driving licence.
  • Training in the administering of medication is preferable, but not essential. 
  • Candidates must be able to start immediately following a successful interview with the client

The role of the Support Worker is central to the delivery of excellent customer care and involves supporting to maintain or improve the wellbeing of service users. 

  • To provide and promote person-centred care and support to vulnerable adults who require differing levels of support to meet a range of complex social and health needs. 
  • To support a team, providing care and support to enable people to achieve their maximum level of independence through appropriate physical, emotional and psychological support including intimate personal care, support with basic health needs, practical tasks, appropriate communication, and community involvement. This includes following therapy plans, and in the use of innovative technology, for which training is also provided. 

The existing team prides itself on offering excellent customer experiences and support, at what can be a difficult time for service users and their family/carers. Service users are often frail and frequently have more than one health condition, including varying degrees of physical and cognitive impairment. 

The care team works closely with well established Multi-Disciplinary Team members including Social Workers, Therapists, and Community Nurses.
